We can easily access the Cuyuna State Recreation Area by biking in and out. The area boasts more than 35 miles (and still growing) of nationally recognized red dirt, single-track mountain bike trails.
Well, we checked it out, and here’s our no-nonsense take on our latest stay!
Basic Information
Meet Cuyuna Cove, a cozy mix of Glamping Tents and Boutique Cabins right on the edge of Crosby, Minnesota. Run by the dynamic duo, Kelsey and Chris, this marks their third rental venture, and you can feel the love they’ve poured into this place right from the get-go.
The boutique cabins, available all year round, are a gem. Picture this: floor-to-ceiling windows, kitchenettes, private bathrooms, and thoughtful touches like a French press, games, and private patios with grills.
They’re pet-friendly (for a small fee), boast WiFi, making it a perfect spot for some “work from cabin” vibes.
Now, onto the glamping tents – they’re all about those warm summer months. Comfy queen beds, access to indoor/outdoor bathrooms, and the cherry on top – outdoor fire pits and a sauna for all to enjoy!
And the location? Just outside the Cuyuna State Recreation Area, with a cool winter twist – they rent out HOK skis, throw in 2 adult snowshoes with your stay (what a deal!), and have a mountain bike station right onsite. Ready for an adventure-packed stay? Cuyuna Cove is calling!

Our Thoughts
Alright, listen up! This place – Cuyuna Cove – hands down, the coziest spot we’ve ever crashed at in Minnesota. Seriously, if you’re local and looking to conquer those chilly winters, do yourself a favor and snag a booking here.
We bunked in the “Mangan” cabin, and let me tell you, it felt like our own little haven. Board games, chill vibes, and Cuyuna Rec Area adventures had us head over heels for this place.
And oh, the love for Cuyuna Cove is real! Can’t wait to hit them up again. Bonus: there’s a ton of cool stuff to do around – shopping sprees, charcuterie board experiments (thanks, Shop Victual!), and exploring the nearby mine lakes. Pro tip: dive into the guide Kelsey and Chris hand you at check-in – it’s a treasure trove of hidden gems. Happy exploring, pals!
